I have served as the Coton Ward Councillor for over 40 years, being first elected in 1973 and in the same year was one of the first graduates of the Open University.
I served in the Royal Air Force for 12 years and then became a teacher, I taught in Stoke on Trent and Stafford. I was the Mayor in 1989-90 and a former leader of the Council. I was a Board member of Stafford and Rural Homes for seven years.
I am very active in the Co-operative movement and served for over 25 years as a Director of the local Co-operative societies.
